A Case Study
Grinnell College has a rich history of commitment to environmental stewardship within the campus grounds. Initiatives include signing onto the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment, a pact that requires participating institutions to develop comprehensive plans to achieve climate neutrality. Since signing on, the College has engaged in a cross-section of campus-wide, sustainability efforts.
Under the direction of Chris Bair, Environmental and Safety Coordinator, the Facilities Management underwent a solar retrofit in 2014, contributing to Grinnell College’s target sustainability goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. During winter 2017-2018, the College is expanding its solar portfolio with the inclusion of three other facilities.

A Case Study

With the first four-year Sustainable Living degree program in the country taught by some of the world’s most prestigious sustainability educators, the University has earned a reputation for being a global leader in developing educational programs that consider the vibrancy and well-being of both the environment and the individual.
Maharishi University of Management’s new 42 kW installation is located in central campus and features a western-facing array, which helps offset the specific peak demand of the campus meditation facilities later in the afternoon.
